Columbus Couple Found Shot Dead, 911 Call Reveals Prior Domestic Dispute

In the months leading up to the tragic discovery of Spencer and Monique Tepe in their Columbus, Ohio, residence, a woman dialled 911 from the same location, as documented in records shared by Fox News.

On April 15, 2025, at 2:45AM local time, an unidentified woman phoned from the couple's home to report an incident referred to by the dispatcher as a "domestic dispute," as detailed by Fox News.

The call was disconnected, prompting 911 to reach out again, during which the woman communicated with a dispatcher.

Throughout the exchange, the woman was tearful and apologised frequently to the dispatcher. She reassured them repeatedly that she was "alright," according to the transcript provided by Fox News.

When the dispatcher inquired about her tears, the woman explained she was "just emotional" and insisted there was no need for police or medical support.

She mentioned that her initial call was made "because my man got into it, but I'm OK, I promise."

In the 911 transcript from Fox News, the woman acknowledged there had been a disagreement but emphasised no physical altercation took place.

The dispatcher informed her that the responding officers would be called off, categorising the call as a "domestic dispute" where "assistance was no longer necessary."

On December 30, 2025, Spencer and Monique were found dead with gunshot injuries in the same residence after police responded to welfare check requests.

Authorities had earlier confirmed that there were no indications of forced entry and no firearms were located at the scene.

Spencer was shot several times, while Monique suffered at least one gunshot wound to her chest.

The Columbus Police Department is treating the case as a double homicide and not considering it a case of murder-suicide, according to reports from WSYX and CNN.

The apparent causes of death for Spencer and Monique, due to gunshot wounds, were previously stated by the Franklin County Coroner's Office, led by Nathaniel R. Overmire.

Their official causes of death are awaiting further investigation, including toxicology tests.

A new development emerged a day after Columbus Police shared video footage of a person of interest in the case, captured by a camera in an alley near the Tepe home during the same morning when officials believe the couple was killed.

The individual of interest was seen dressed in a dark hooded sweatshirt coupled with lighter pants, with their hands in their pockets, and their face was not visible.
